How do I configure user options (domain settings)?

Note: This document references views and actions that are only available to Echo Administrators

The User Options Tab of the Domain Settings Panel allows you to control various aspects of the user experience in Echo.

In general, the default settings on this tab will meet the typical school's needs.  The settings have been configured to insure that the application works best for most schools. If you are considering changes to these settings, we advise you to contact the Echo Support Team.

Below is an overview of each section on the User Options tab.

Echo Administrators can upload avatars that users can select from their profile menu.  The avatar will appear in the top right corner of Echo.  Also see, How do I change my profile picture?

Student Optons

The student options control panel toggles features available to students within Echo's Student App.

User Meta Data Fields

Echo has certain pre-defined fields associated with each user account (first name, last name, email, etc). Three additional fields (EchoUserType, EchoGradYear, and EchoIEP) are custom fields that are used by the School Browser.  Echo Admins can used this configuration tool to define additional fields associated with each user.

Echo is constantly being improved based on the feedback from users and we strive to keep our documentation up to date.  If this document doesn’t match what you are seeing in Echo, please let us know.
