How do I configure the advanced feature controls?

One of Echo's unique features is the ability to morph from a simple learning management system with just a few basic features to a robust platform that supports PBL and personalized learning.  This is managed through a set of advanced feature switches that hide advanced features from users who need a simple interface and show advanced features to teacher who are ready to use all of Echo's features.

Note that if an advanced feature is turned off in the domain, it is possible to turn the feature back on for the individual.  It is not possible to turn an advanced feature off for an individual that is turned on in the domain.  When deciding what switches to turn on, always plan for the typical teacher and then turn on specific features for the individual teachers that are ready for them.  If most of the advanced features are turned off, it might be worth considering creating a course template to pre-configure the settings for any new course.

To access the feature controls, navigate to the "Features" tab found in the Domain tool.  From here, selected features can be enabled and disabled in the domain.

To enable features that have been turned off in the domain for individual teachers, open the user's account from the Users tool and select "Edit feature settings" from the settings menu (three dots).
