How do I change someone's username in Echo?

Note: This document references views and actions that are only available to Echo Administrators

Changing a username in Echo is a similar process to bulk importing new users. Use the same bulk import file to modify certain fields and re-import the file. See this article for the import file template.

For changing a username, you will only need the fields Action, Username, and User ID.

(Note: You will need to add the field for User ID if you are using the import file template).

  1. Under "Action" type EDIT
  2. Under "Username" type the new username
  3. Under "User ID" enter the unique Echo User ID (not an External ID)

If multiple people need username changes, keep entering the necessary info in each row to modify multiple usernames at once.

Save the file as a .csv when completed.

In the Admin App, click on the Users tab from the navigation menu.

On the Users tab, click on the Import button in the top righthand corner.

From the pop-up window, find the appropriate file using the Browse button. Once selected you can review the information once more to make sure it is correct before importing.

Click the Import button.

If successful, the window will say "1 (or however many) rows imported." Click the Close button.

Now the user's username has been updated. Notify them as soon as possible, as the username has changed for their login information.
