Echo provides multiple ways to mail individual students, select groups, an entire class, or students across all courses.
NOTE: Many schools block emails from external organizations that would prevent students from getting messages from their teachers sent through Echo. To insure that students get your messages, instruct your district's IT team to:
- Allow emails from "notifications@echo-ntn.org" and "mailer@agilix.com" to pass through the filter.
- Add the following domains to the district's whitelist:
*.echo-ntn.org (or add each of your school and district domains individually)
buzz-mail.agilix.com
agilixbuzz.com
api.agilixbuzz.com
cdn.mathjax.com

Sending Messages Using The People Page
From the homepage, click on the People icon under the title of a course.
Click on Send Mail (envelope icon).
In the pop-up window:
- Click the "To:" field to see a dropdown of potential recipients; when you have a specific course selected, you can only message members of that course. Click on recipients (or groups of recipients) in the dropdown menu to add them.
- Click the "Send to recipients" dropdown to see other send options, including "send to recipients and observers" and "send to observers" only.
- Complete the Subject line, compose the message, and click "Send."
Students can also be individually selected by checking the box next to student names and then clicking Send Mail.
Note that if a user has "no address" next to their name, that means they do not have an email address associated to their profile and will not receive mail.

Messaging Students With The Clipboard
The Clipboard tool allows teachers to select a group of students from many Echo views and target assignments, resources or messages to them. To learn more about the Clipboard tool, click here.
On the Clipboard page, click the Messages tab.
- Add the student(s) using Quick Lists and/or Groups to whom you want to send the message using the panel on the left.
- Compose the message in the Send Mail panel on the right and click Send.
Remove recipients by clicking on the yellow minus sign next to the list of users (either check some recipients or all).

Tips
- You and your students must have valid external email addresses linked to your Echo account to send messages; you can verify your email in the User Menu. Contact your domain admin if you need help with this.
- The Clipboard is the only place that allows you to message students across multiple courses.
- Using Quick Lists can save you time while still enabling you to provide the individualized attention your students need.
