How do I link to or copy content from another course?

Sharing approved content between courses and teachers is easy with Echo

 

From the homepage click on the "Editor" icon located on the course that needs content from another course added.

 

 

Select the folder that needs content from another course added.

 

 

Open the folder. Click the "+Add to..." link.

 

 

From the popup window select "Library".

 

 

Select a library to search.

 

 

In the popup window:

1. Fill in the search fields.

2. Click "Search".

 

 

1. Select the desired items.

2. Click "Copy Activity".

 

 

Copied activities now show up in the selected folder.

Copying content between courses saves time and creation of identical activities. It also allows for easy collaboration with colleagues across the Network.

Sharing approved content between courses and teachers is easy with Echo

To use content from another course:

  1. Open the Course Editor for the course into which you want to copy content.
  2. Select the folder in which you want the items to appear.
  3. Click on the Add button.
  4. Select Library.
  1. Select the library from which you want to copy content; to browse content from your own courses, select your domain.
  2. Select the desired items and folders.
  3. Once you’ve selected all of the content, you can select:
    • Create Link to allow the items to be accessed, but not edited in the new course. Linked content reflects updates made to the content source.
    • Create Copy to create a static copy of the content. Copied content is fully editable, but receives no updates.

Copying content between courses not only saves you from having to recreate identical activities, but it also allows you to easily collaborate with colleagues.

Tips

  • Using the Create Link option can save significant time when revising activities; simply, build the activity once, create links to other courses, and every revision is automatically reflected.
