Note: This document references views and actions that are only available to Echo Administrators
NOTE: The proxy feature is handy but not all powerful. For security reasons, Echo prevents the Echo Administrator from using the proxy feature, if a staff member(s) are enrolled in NTN training or professional development courses. When this happens, the Echo Administrator will need to use more traditional means of accessing the user's account, such as acquiring or temporarily changing the user's password, meeting with the user face-to-face to look over their shoulder, etc. |
As the Echo Administrator, you have permissions which allow you to proxy to a Staff, Student, or Parent account. In general, most Echo Admins use proxy to help identify and troubleshoot reported problems. Only users with domain permissions can proxy as another user.
Proxy to another domain
If proxy to a user outside of your domain, its recommended to log into the domain the user exists in. Once logged in, select the user from the User tool, and click on the navigator and select Proxy
When you are signed in as someone via proxy, you now can navigate to all areas of Echo as that user. The indicator that you are currently in Proxy is by the double profile picture in the upper right corner. To turn off the proxy, select from the dropdown menu under the profile picture, Unproxy.
Proxy in current domain
Select the user from the User tool, click on the navigator and select Proxy
Echo is constantly being improved based on the feedback from users and we strive to keep our documentation up to date. If this document doesn't match what you are seeing in Echo, please let us know.
