The Digital Library: How do I find courses and add content?

You MUST have an existing course to access the Digital Library.

 From the homepage click the editor icon located on a course card.  

Click the +Add Activity... link.

From the pop-up menu select library.

Scroll down the list of libraries, or use the search feature to find your school's collection. Click on your school to open a list of courses.

Find past courses by scrolling through the list or by using the search feature. Double-click to open the course.

Once inside a course within the digital library, you will see all of its content. When you find a project, folder, resource, activity, etc. that you would like to copy into the existing course, use the select all button to select it and then click the copy activity button at the bottom.  

The item(s) will now appear in your course syllabus.

Once items are copied to a course, be sure to check their visibility.

Click the pop out menu on the right hand side of your screen and select the properties tab to see the item's visibility.

To adjust the item's visibility, click the pencil icon next to the item and select the settings tab. Look for the visibility and access panel.

When accessing material from the Digital Library, you have a choice to Link to Activity or Copy Activity. You will almost always want to choose Copy Activity.

Copy Activity: Does just what it says - copies the activity into your course to edit as you see fit.

Link to Activity:  The content will appear in your course, BUT you can't change it and any changes made in the original will also appear in your course with no notification to you. Think about as you would linking to a newspaper article or website, the links can "break" or the content can change.
