Echo's four applications
User permissions will determine which application(s) will be accessible upon logging into Echo. If you have more than one type of permission, you could have up to 4 applications to choose from.
The administrative application allows those with “Echo Administrator” permissions to manage a school’s Echo domain. The teacher application allows those with “staff” permissions to create and manage their courses. The Parent/observer application will appear if the user is assigned to a student. This allows the observer to see everything the student sees without the option to submit work. The student application allows a user to participate in a course.
Its not uncommon for a user to have all four applications, as they could be a teacher who is observing a student and has been enrolled into a course as a Student. The Admin app may be less common unless the teacher is also the Echo Admin for the school.
Echo is constantly being improved based on the feedback from users and we strive to keep our documentation up to date. If this document doesn’t match what you are seeing in Echo, please let us know.
