How can I assign activities that don't get counted in the final course grade?

Adding a Journal to a course allows students to submit text (including links to Google docs) and allows the teacher to comment on what the student submitted. The Journal allows for a back and forth conversation without requiring a score be assigned. Teachers can create a individual journal for each assignment/task or use a single journal for multiple tasks. To learn more about the Journal item type, click here.

The Advanced gradebook settings panel on the Settings tab of an assignment allows teachers to:

1. Hide assignment scores until a specified date
2. Include or exclude assignment scores from the courses final grade

Note: If you do not see the Advanced Gradebook Settings panel, it may have been turned off in your domain. Please contact your school's Echo Administrator to make these features available.
