This notification is for our schools who use SAML as their SSO authentication.
We are excited to announce improvements to the SAML authentication. In Domain settings, when you have configured either CAS or SAML, we now display a field for the allowed application hostname for increased security. This becomes the hostname that is allowed to authenticate through the Echo SSO. For many schools, it will be agilixbuzz.com.
When configuring SAML using the newly released SAML option, Echo automatically adds this hostname during setup based upon the current hostname being used during configuration. When using CAS, we added a button to update the field to the current hostname. Domain Administrators who have configured CAS should open Domain settings and click the Update button to populate the field
These improvements include the following:
• The ability to configure your domain to use multiple Identity providers (IdPs).
• A smoother login workflow (no more blocked popups/content!).
• Improved security.
However, in order to take advantage of these improvements, including sandbox testing, follow these steps. We recommend you upgrade as soon as possible, as we will be deprecating the old SAML setup (timing to be announced).
Please contact Echo Support for further assistance.
